Habitat Success Stories

Smith Family

My name is Brittney Smith and I am 29 years old. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and in the 7th Ward, to be exact. Before Hurricane Katrina, I attended John McDonough High School and I graduated from an online program called Penn Foster High. I have three handsome boys- my oldest is Vincent Evans, Jr. 7 and my twins are Bradley and Brandon Evans, 1 year old. They are a big motivation in accomplishing my goals in life, “finishing school, getting a career job as a pharmacy technician, and become a homeowner.”

My mother is also another force and an inspiration, as she is a hard-working single parent. She made sure that all of her five children had all they needed. She provided us with a stable home, working two jobs. I am the baby  of the family  and she always told us: “no matter what you do, make sure you buy your own place.”

I was a lucky “girl,” when my supervisor at work told me about NOAHH.  She told me her story about how she completed this wonderful program and became a homeowner. I then, applied and followed the NOAHH’s team recommendations.

I am more than “grateful” for this wonderful organization. I can’t wait to show my children such a big accomplishment in life!
