Community Rising

“We’ve got to figure out how to build to a little bit greater density, closer to transportation, beefing up our public transportation systems, and none of these things can happen in a silo, you have to integrate them.”

– Marguerite Oestreicher, New Orleans Habitat Executive Director

We’re proud to share that this week’s Annual Nonprofit Issue of BizNOLA features two articles profiling New Orleans Habitat’s work. “Community Rising” discusses the on-going long-term disaster recovery and relief efforts in Jean Lafitte, and “‘Affordable’ Is Gone” features a long interview with NOAHH Executive Director Marguerite Oestreicher about the current housing landscape, current challenges being faced in affordable housing, and many potential solutions to these challenges.

You can see the entire issue here, including NOAHH’s two-page profile on how you can give.

Phones aren’t the only things that like updates.
