What We Are Thankful For

Thank you for being there.

When Hurricane Ida hit, you stepped up and donated your time and money to help those in hard-hit areas, just as you did 16 years ago after Hurricane Katrina. When we asked for help for those affected by storms and earthquakes in Haiti, you answered the call. Despite the pandemic, you have shown up to build. You have stood with us in the face of adversity.

We cannot thank you enough.

This year, you have made a difference by giving to our Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund or donating your gently used furniture to the ReStores. You changed lives by sharing a social media post or encouraging your friends and loved ones to apply to our programs. You helped support our mission by putting New Orleans Habitat in your will or advocating for better housing policies to your local representatives.

For 38 years, we have seen the impact an affordable monthly payment makes. Instead of losing most of a paycheck to rent, Habitat homeowners are able to save up for school, start new businesses, and afford better for their children. Everything you gave this year, whether it was time, money, or spreading the word, makes this possible.

On behalf of our staff, board, partner families, and friends, thank you.
