Faith-based groups and congregations are some of our most frequent and committed volunteers. Groups like RHINO coordinate faith-based volunteers from around the country, and local churches are often found on site or in the ReStore giving back to their communities. Volunteering with NOAHH is a great opportunity for congregations to express their faith through good works and to build fellowship among members.
Youth groups (with members aged 16+) can find many opportunities for community service projects and learning opportunities by volunteering with NOAHH on the build site, in the ReStore, or with our garden partners. The build site is a great place to teach life skills and to engage in team-building activities.
College, university, and high school students from around the country join NOAHH for Alternative Spring Break and Alternative Winter Break every year. These service opportunities allow students to give back to the communities they visit over break while also giving them time to explore the city.
Local colleges, universities, and high schools regularly volunteer with NOAHH, including through service learning programs. NOAHH’s program shows students the value of community service and social justice, and it allows students to connect with and give back to the city of New Orleans.
All volunteers must be 16 years or older.
Custom build days and half-days are possible for corporate and convention groups. Corporate and convention groups interested in a custom build day or other volunteer experience should contact Jay Huffstatler.
