Habitat Success Stories

Frymire Family

I first came to New Orleans in 1992 and I fell in love with the city from the very first moment I arrived. I would not return for many years later, but in 2012, when I did, it was FOREVER.

I needed somewhere to lay my roots and to make a fresh start. For the first 2 years of coming back, my son, Pasha,  and I lived in a one room shack. When I started having respiratory problems due to mold allergies, I knew it was time for an upgrade.

I began to push self promotion and quickly established a successful cleaning service. I worked every day during the early morning hours and overnights. As an independent contractor, I found it difficult to get ahead. With the rising cost of living I had written off the dream of owning a home in a family friendly, safe neighborhood.

It is through the generosity of NOAHH that I have finally gotten a chance. As a single mother of a teenage boy, it is crucial to provide a stable and safe home for our family.  I cannot wait to hold the keys to our new home and look forward to the opportunity to create the memories that will be cherished forever.

Thank you Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans for our new hope and our fresh start.  You can’t put a price on that!
