Habitat Success Stories

Fleming Family

My name is Gabrielle Flemings, and I am a future Habitat for Humanity homeowner. I am twenty four years old and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. Hailing from this great city, I know the importance of what this organization means to our communities. Eliminating poverty is definitely an amazing feat. This is why I am overjoyed to be a partner family.

I attend the University of New Orleans, and I am an alumnus of Edna Karr High School. I am the hardworking, single mother of an amazingly gifted four year old boy, and my son, Ryan Christopher, is equally excited to be a part of this journey. We are now renting an apartment in New Orleans East, and we look forward to owning a house of our own.

I currently work at the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross in the Community Outreach Department, and my position includes just that. I reach out to the community for a living. It is a very meaningful job.

I feel as though I am truly blessed to be given an opportunity such as this. I have always dreamed of becoming a homeowner, and with the help of the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, my dreams will soon come true. Thank you, and I am proud to be a part of this movement.
