My name is Michael Conerly, Sr. I am 50 years old and was born on February 19, 1966. I have 4 beautiful children who are: Ashely M. Wells (28), Brianna L. Conerly (5), Michael Conerly, Jr (4) and Tyrianna M. LeDay (3). I am also a graduate of Walter L. Cohen S.H and presently residing in the Uptown area.
I was employed with Hotard Motor Coaches as a motor coach operator for 14 years, before I was surprised with the Big Cancer. I am a Katrina survivor and also a Cancer fighter. I was diagnosed with Chronic Eosinophilic Leukemia in 2012 that completely changed my life. I totally felt lost and confused but God is good. I started getting blessings after blessings and my biggest one was NOAHH.
This organization is giving me the opportunity to own my home for my babies and myself. So far, I have accumulated knowledge through the classes, the volunteer work at the Restore and the staff. I have never met a group of people so loving and caring as the team at New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. May GOD continue to bless them for the work and help that they are giving back to the community.
