Habitat Success Stories

Young Family

My name is Roy Young, Jr. I was born and raised in New Orleans by my mother and grandmother (98 years old.) My father passed away when I was 11 years old from a blood clot in the brain. My family still surrounds and supports me. Fishing is my passion. I learned through life that God is my guidance as I still have to strive for my two beautiful daughters- Royell and Royal, as well as their mother- Ariane Carter. I have been working now for the New Orleans Water and Sewarage Board for a few years and I hope to be a supervisor soon.

I would like to thank New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity staff as they taught me new skills both, working in the Restore and in the construction sites. Also, I thank them for giving me the opportunity to become a First Time Homeowner.
