Volunteers from Gap, Inc.’s Community Corps joined NOAHH for the eighth year, having worked previously on 16 homes throughout the New Orleans area, and having helped fund many of them as well. Their commitment to rebuilding comes from a basic philosophy of their organization to expand the impact of their organization beyond their retail experience. The home they worked on in St. Roch will one day (soon!) belong to Kimberly Landry, a doula and midwife who will be living there with her children. She joined Gap onsite to help raise the walls and thank the volunteers for all of their hard work.
Community and Collaboration
For Brooke Barnes of the University of Virginia, spring break is about community and collaboration.
