Did You Volunteer or Donate After Hurricane Katrina?
This year will mark the 15th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In the last 15 years, New Orleans has seen hundreds of thousands of volunteers come to help rebuild homes and communities. Over 200,000 volunteers joined New Orleans Habitat on site, from Musicians’ Village to Hermes Street. Though it has been a decade and a half, the legacy of the destruction caused by the storm and levee failures and the hope and resilience inspired by those who love our city continues to have an impact on our lives. It is that hope and resilience we commemorate on this anniversary.
The Katrina 15 Reunion Build will bring together the volunteers and supporters who were part of New Orleans Habitat’s work after the storm. Whether you gutted homes in St. Bernard in 2005 or worked on America Street in 2015, we would like you to come back for this special build. Anyone who has been involved in the past 15 years is invited to join us.
To volunteer for the build, simply go to our volunteer sign up form and choose Saturday, August 29, 2020 as your volunteer date. It’s that simple.
If you can’t make it to the build, you can always donate to support it. Click here to give today.
