This is what your support has accomplished this year:

10 transitional housing units

Four of these units are part of our partnership with Covenant House. This partnership and our incubator program will allow NOAHH to serve more people and help those not financially ready for our homeownership program to stabilize and reach their eventual goal of a new home. Read more about how this partnership began and our recent milestones.

36 A Brush With Kindness repair projects

NOAHH has completed 150 total ABWK repair projects since starting the program in 2012. ABWK helps homeowners who are unable to maintain or repair their homes, preserving community by keeping long-time homeowners in the homes they’ve lived in for decades. 15 Habitat Urban Garden partners

Our urban garden partners turn unused lots into sources of produce (and beauty) for local communities and businesses. Our garden partners provide green space, fight blight, and help NOAHH save on lot maintenance. Read about our garden partners here.

26 new homes built

This year, we built homes in the Lower Ninth, completed ten more homes on and around America Street, and continued building in other neighborhoods throughout the city. Families like the Wilkens family, like Gloria and Trenace, like the White family, like Matt and Val, like the Allen family, have worked hard for their new homes and helping to create communities. In our 33 years, NOAHH has completed a total of 581 homes.

7,000 volunteers working 120,000 volunteer hours

Whether it’s one of the many student groups who joined us on their spring break, new volunteers, core volunteers, ReStore volunteers, individuals making a difference, companies giving back, people inspired by their faith, AmeriCorps members committing to a year of service, or anyone building with us for any reason, volunteers are vital to making our mission to end poverty housing in the New Orleans area a reality.

Thank you for making all of this possible this year. We look forward to an even more successful 2017!
